Director of Operations

Evelyn Hernandez has been instrumental in connecting and assisting aspiring students to achieve their entrepreneurial goals, playing a key role in supporting EA’s mission of building wealth and wellness within the community. For the past 10 years, Evelyn has contributed to the community as a speaker at a rehabilitation center for substance abuse and alcoholism. She has also collaborated with mental health agencies to help break the stigma surrounding mental health within Black and Brown communities. Active with multiple churches and agencies, Evelyn assists with outreach, food drives, and other essential community services.

A graduate of the FLEET program and an entrepreneur, Evelyn owns Empowered Purpose, LLC, which aims to help individuals find their purpose in life and connect them with the proper resources. Drawing from her own experiences with trauma, abuse, and addiction, Evelyn has become a speaker and advocate for those dealing with mental health and addiction issues, believing that sharing her story helps others see that there is hope. She has established a women’s ministry that meets monthly, offering sisterhood, fellowship, good food, and a sense of belonging in a safe environment.

Currently, Evelyn is working on her second bachelor’s degree in business management and furthering her education in trauma and inner healing, pursuing certification as a CRSS and CADC. She is also in her final year of studies to become a certified, licensed, ordained minister.
